The 2026 Winter Olympic Games will take place in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22.
In total, about 2,900 athletes from 93 countries will compete at the 2026 Games. A total of 116 sets of medals will be awarded across 16 disciplines—7 more than at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Ukraine will be represented at the 2026 Olympics by 46 athletes competing for medals in 11 sports: biathlon, alpine skiing, Nordic combined, cross-country skiing, luge, skeleton, snowboarding, ski jumping, figure skating, freestyle skiing, and short track.
The Ukrainian delegation consists of 103 members, including three from Kharkiv. One of them, Yelyzaveta Sydorko, will serve as Ukraine’s flag bearer at the Winter Olympics. She is the youngest representative in short track. Skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych will carry the flag alongside her.
Let’s cheer on the Kharkiv athletes and the Ukrainian national team.
