On September 30, 2024, the global translation community celebrated its professional holiday – International Translation Day. On this day, the "Referent-Translator" Faculty of People's Ukrainian Academy (PUA) organized a meeting with the world-renowned translator, writer, and lecturer, Olena Kostyukovych (Italy).
Ms. Kostyukovych conducted a masterclass attended by faculty, students, and alumni of the Academy. At the beginning of the meeting, the guest shared her background, discussing her education and how she became a translator.
And then there was a conversation of interested people about the problems of translation and ways to overcome them, about the personality of the translator, about the future of this profession.
The masterclass was undoubtedly beneficial and engaging for all participants. We said farewell to Olena Kostyukovych, but hopefully not for long, as the topic for the next meeting has already been decided!
