On September 30, 2024, the global translation community celebrated its professional holiday – International Translation Day.
To mark the occasion, the "Referent-Translator" Faculty of People’s Ukrainian Academy organized a meeting with the world-renowned translator, writer, and lecturer Olena Kostyukovych (currently resides in Italy).
Ms. Kostyukovych conducted a masterclass attended by faculty, students, and alumni of the Academy. At the beginning of the event, she shared her personal story, discussed her education, and described her journey to becoming a translator.
The discussion then turned to translation challenges and strategies for overcoming them, as well as the role of the translator and the future of the profession.
The masterclass was highly beneficial and engaging for all participants. We bid farewell to Olena Kostyukovych but hope to see her again soon. The topic for the next meeting has already been set!
