A meeting was held at the initiative of the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate joint actions by higher education institutions, state agencies, and local governments regarding the organization and conduct of physical education and health events and competitions under the “Side by Side All-Ukrainian Student Leagues” initiative in 2026, under the slogan “WE WILL WIN” (“Uniting the Country”).
The meeting was attended by: Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine – Oleksiy Kuleba, Minister of Youth and Sports – Matvii Bidnyi, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports – Serhii Tymofieiev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science – Andrii Vitrenko, heads of regional administrations, representatives of higher education institutions, and sports public organizations. Representing NUA were: Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports – Svitlana Nikolaieva, and Head of the Trade Union Organization – Svitlana Koziaruk.
Attendees were introduced to the basic mechanisms for organizing and conducting competitions at all levels (from higher education institutions to the national level), the creation of coordination groups, and funding sources.
The competition will feature four sports: volleyball, basketball, futsal, and cheerleading.
Students who do not participate in sports professionally are invited to participate. Additionally, a sports ranking of Ukrainian universities will be created based on the results of the events.
