Despite all the challenges caused by the war, the PUA teachers actively carry out research work. They publish monographs, scientific papers, and study guides; they prepare school and university students for participation in annual conferences and All-Ukrainian scientific research competitions.
Research projects in the field of Translation studies prepared by students under the guidance of teachers of the PUA department of foreign languages deserve special attention.
In 2022 the II round of the All-Ukrainian competition for student scientific works (Order of the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 508 of May 31, 2022) was canceled by the Ministry of Education and Science nevertheless, the website of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University, where the second round of the competition for the specialty "Translation" took place, submitted competition papers and their reviews.
The scientific paper "Patriotic speeches in the English-language academic discourse: the specifics of reproduction in the Ukrainian language (based on the material of the "Commencement ROTC" speeches)", prepared by Elizaveta Koroleva and Yevgenia Lysenko, who at that time were second-year students of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, received the highest marks of the reviewers, that is 99 and 94 points. Anastasiya Shevchenko, a second-year student (currently third-year student) of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, also participated in the contest. The results of the work were approved and the paper was accepted for participation in the conference. The research was performed under the supervision of PhD in Philology, associate professor Natalya Molodcha, who has been a supervisor of some prize-winning papers.
